When I am alone
the gentle wind and soft mist
accompany me.

one wooing, raucous, questing
one brooding, silent.

eagle surveys spring's brilliant wealth
above nesting mice.

One too many. Intruder
still young and hopeful.

freshet bringing silt downwards -
life refreshing earth
