Dog haiku

On the death of my old dog, Jet

We seldom feel grief.
Alien emotion, searing
the depths of the soul.

The heart of my heart
is gone. My dog, supporter
of my heights and depths.

She's gone for a walk
ahead of me. She went so
gently. ..Wait for me....

Bernese Mountain dogs

Twin Bernese, thick coats,
healthy. Longing to rescue
their secure master.

Boston Bull Baby

Bum wagging angry
terrified fierce, puppy runs
to bite lick stranger.

-------

Border Collie

What are you doing? I
can do that. Let me do it.
It must be my job.

-------

Bump beside my bed,
a sigh, a groan. suffering.
Long time since supper.

-------

Kitten chases light
Dog chases kitten - snarl,  hiss
swat, happy tail wagging.

-----
Your ears and tail droop,
your legs are slow, your feet sore.
Old dog, let's go home.

---------

Construction site dog,
shaggy mutt, roped to fence, cold,
watching owner work.

---------
Maggie
"Get the ball, Maggie."
No! I'm a poodle, not a
bloody retriever.

--------
  "Hi" I said. Friendly
pug  shared enthusiastic
slobber on my hand.

------
Gotta cover up
my pee. Scratch! Scratch! Now no-one
will know I peed here.
